Designed to take advantage of the low height profile of our preloaded OBDII connector, the 3000 and 3100 series are the lowest profile connectors on the market. Often copied but never equalled, these connectors are perfect for long term data collections or straight through designs.
The 3000 series is screw fastened and incorporates an internal strain relief for cabling that has a 5mm outer diameter. By utilizing ABS plastic for the housing, it remains cost effective yet extremely durable. For simplicity the housing can be installed in a left or right manner on the connector which keeps is extremely versatile.
The 3100 series is the result of customers who needed a cost effective housing that reduced their assembly time as well. To meet this requirement the screw fastening was removed and clip style fasteners were used. This not only greatly reduced the time required for the assembly of the housings but necessitated the removal of the internal strain relief. As a result, there is a need for dedicated cabling with an overmolded strain relief. There is however slightly more internal room for electronics.
